How to Reschedule a US Visa Appointment in Dubai or Abu Dhabi

To reschedule a US visa appointment in Dubai or Abu Dhabi, log in to your profile on the official US visa scheduling system for the UAE (ustraveldocs.com, which works with usvisascheduling.com) and choose a new date if one is shown. The US Mission says existing appointment holders can look for an earlier slot at any time, but the number of reschedules is limited, the visa fee is non-refundable and non-transferable, and routine visa processing is not currently available in the UAE.

Where to reschedule: the official system

UAE appointments run on the Global Support Services (GSS) system at ustraveldocs.com/ae, which uses usvisascheduling.com for sign in and password resets. The UAE does not use ais.usvisa-info.com, so ignore instructions written for other countries. Booking on the official site is done by you in your own profile; the scheduling page says “The call center will not be able to assist in scheduling applicant appointments.”

How to reschedule, step by step

1. Sign in to your profile on ustraveldocs.com/ae with the same account you used to book.
2. Open your appointment and look at the calendar for the post you want. If an earlier date is shown, select it and confirm.
3. Print or email the new appointment confirmation from the Appointment Confirmation option on the home page.
4. Check that your DS-160 barcode, which starts with AA, matches the one in your appointment profile. The official site says you will not be able to attend if they do not match, and asks you to submit the DS-160 at least two business days before the interview.
5. Keep your fee receipt. Fees are paid per applicant and are non-refundable and non-transferable.

If the calendar shows an “Access limitation” warning, the official FAQ says this is linked to browser plug-ins or extensions designed for automation, and advises removing them and waiting at least 24 hours before trying again.

Official limits and fees

The Friday release window

The Mission says: “The U.S. Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the U.S. Consulate General in Dubai release appointments for nonimmigrant visa interviews every Friday morning between 7:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m., with the exception of U.S. and UAE holidays. We may also occasionally release additional interview appointments outside of this regular schedule as needed.” If you are trying to move an appointment earlier, that window is when new dates are most likely to appear.

Dubai or Abu Dhabi

The UAE scheduling site publishes separate appointment wait times for Abu Dhabi and Dubai, and the Mission releases appointments for both posts. If you can attend either city, compare both when you look for a new date in your account. The Mission also says applicants for nonimmigrant visas should schedule their interviews at the embassy or consulate in their country of residence or nationality.

If the Mission cancelled your appointment

The Mission’s notice of 1 March 2026, “Suspension of Routine Visa Services”, says: “If your visa appointment was cancelled, we will contact you to reschedule when routine services resume.” If you have a genuine emergency, the official route is an expedited appointment request, which we explain in our guide to US visa expedited appointments from Dubai. If you miss your appointment

The official UAE pages we checked do not publish a separate rule for missed appointments. What they do say applies directly: reschedules are limited, and running out can mean paying the visa application fee again. If you miss an appointment, log in to your profile to see what the system allows, and contact the customer service line if your account shows an error.
