UK Priority and Super Priority Visa from Dubai and Abu Dhabi (2026)

UK priority costs £500 and super priority costs £1,000 per applicant, paid on top of the UK visa fee, according to GOV.UK, and VFS Global’s UAE page lists the same amounts. Priority usually gives a decision within 5 working days, and super priority usually by the end of the next working day after a weekday appointment. Both speed up the decision after your VFS appointment in Dubai or Abu Dhabi; neither gets you an earlier appointment, and neither affects whether the visa is granted.

UK priority and super priority fees and times

GOV.UK also lists longer term visitor visas: £506 for 2 years, £903 for 5 years and £1,128 for 10 years. Each family member pays for the faster service separately, and GOV.UK says everyone in the group gets a decision at the same time. We do not publish AED equivalents, because neither GOV.UK nor VFS Global publishes a fixed dirham price for these services.

What priority buys, and what it does not

VFS Global describes the priority service as putting “your application at the front of the queue”. The clock starts on the day of your appointment if you prove your identity in person, which is the route for visitors applying from the UAE. For super priority, GOV.UK says you will usually get a decision by the end of the next working day after a weekday appointment, or 2 working days after an appointment at the weekend or on a bank holiday.

What it does not buy:

• An earlier appointment. The VFS appointment is booked separately. VFS sells separate optional services such as Prime Time appointments, which are about when and where you attend, not the decision.
• A better outcome. VFS says purchasing any added value service “does not affect the outcome of your application or make it more likely to be approved”.
• A fixed guarantee. GOV.UK says it can take longer, for example if the Home Office needs more information or has to check details with other government departments.

Availability at VFS in the UAE

VFS Global runs the UK Visa Application Centres in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, open Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 17:00. Its FAQ says priority and super priority “are not available in all locations or visa categories”. On 25 September 2026 VFS Global’s UAE optional services page listed Super Priority Visa at GBP 1000, Priority Visa Service at GBP 500 and Priority Visa for settlement at GBP 500 for the Abu Dhabi centre. When you book, the system shows what your chosen centre and visa category offer.

How to add priority to your application

1. Complete the online application on GOV.UK and pay the visa fee. You receive a GWF reference number.
2. You are sent to the VFS Global booking system. Reserve your appointment and select the service you want.
3. Pay for priority or super priority online in your VFS dashboard before you attend. VFS says it cannot be paid by cash or card at the centre, and not paying online will cause delays or a reschedule.
4. Attend your appointment for fingerprints and a photo. For a Standard Visitor visa, GOV.UK says you get your passport back the same day.
5. Wait for the decision email, then view your eVisa in your UKVI account. Our UK visa tracking guide explains what happens after the appointment.

To add priority after booking, VFS says you can reschedule and select the service before your original appointment date. If you already paid for a service level and want to change it, you cancel and rebook.

Refunds when the decision is late

• If your application is refused, you do not get the priority fee back.
• If you are not cancelling your application, you will not usually get a refund, and each case is considered individually.
• If the decision was late because the Home Office needed more information or evidence, there is no refund.
• The Home Office may refund if it could not decide in time because of something outside its control, for example a technical problem.
• If you paid VFS Global directly, GOV.UK says you can request a refund in your VFS account under services, then cancel services. Refunds can take up to 28 days.

When paying for priority is pointless

• An incomplete file. A request for more documents slows the decision, and GOV.UK says a late decision caused by a request for more information or evidence is not refunded. Fix the file first.
• A complex case. GOV.UK lists interviews, requests for further evidence, information about a criminal conviction and checks with other departments as reasons a decision can take longer, whatever service you pay for.

• Plenty of time. If your trip is more than the standard 3 weeks away plus a margin, the standard service may be enough.
