Schengen refusal rates for Pakistani passport holders are among the highest globally — but the reasons are consistent and almost entirely addressable. This guide is about building a file that does not give the consulate an easy reason to say no.
You need a Schengen Type C short-stay visa, which permits up to 90 days in any rolling 180-day period across the entire Schengen area — not per country. Plan your dates with our 90/180 calculator.
The consulate is determined by your main destination — the country where you will spend the most nights — or, if evenly split, your country of first entry. Choosing a consulate because its appointments are easier is a well-known mistake and gets applications rejected as inadmissible.
Assemble it all with our checklist generator.
1. Where the money came from. Consulates are looking for funds that accumulated naturally from salary. A large deposit shortly before applying — even if it is legitimately from family — reads as staged funds. If someone is genuinely sponsoring you, declare it and include their bank statements and a sponsorship letter rather than routing the money through your account.
2. Return intent. This is where UAE residence is your strongest asset. An employment contract, salary transfers, a tenancy, a residence visa with time left, and family in the UAE all say: this person has a life to come back to. If your residence visa expires soon after your trip, renew it before applying.
3. Travel history. A record of previous visas used properly — even to Turkey, Malaysia, Azerbaijan or the UK — and returned from on time is powerful. If you have none, your other evidence must work harder, and a well-argued cover letter matters more.

Declare it. Concealing a prior refusal is treated as deception and is far more damaging than the refusal itself. Read the ground cited — usually about justification of purpose, or intention to leave — and fix that specific point. Our refusal decoder explains what each standard paragraph really means, and our guide to common rejection reasons goes deeper.
We prepare Schengen applications for Pakistani residents of the UAE — reviewing bank statements before they are submitted, choosing the correct consulate, securing appointments, arranging insurance and reservations, and writing a cover letter that addresses finances and ties head-on. Yes, if you hold a valid UAE residence visa. You apply in Dubai or Abu Dhabi with your Emirates ID — no need to return to Pakistan.
Applying as a UAE resident generally presents a stronger case, because your UAE job, salary and residence are clear return-intent evidence. The decision still turns on your individual circumstances.
Enough to cover roughly EUR 50–100 per day plus prepaid flights and hotels. The pattern matters more than the number: steady salary credits, not a sudden lump sum.
No, but it helps. Without it, your employment, financial and residence evidence must be especially clear and consistent.
Yes, always. Non-disclosure is treated as deception and can result in a long-term ban.
