US B1/B2 and student visas from Dubai

Do not want to wait a year for your USA slot? Get it in 7 working days.

The official calendar shows about 11.5 months for a US visa interview in Dubai. We take that wait down to about 7 working days: we watch every appointment release, book the earliest confirmed date we can reach, and prepare your DS-160 and supporting file so the slot is not wasted.

  • Your appointment timeframe is agreed with you in writing
  • If we do not secure it in that time, we refund our service fee
  • We never promise the visa decision, which belongs to the consular officer

The best US visa agency in Dubai is one that prepares your DS-160 accurately, uses only the official US scheduling system, tells you the real published wait for an interview, and never claims it can influence a consular officer. On 17 September 2026 the US Department of State published the next available B1/B2 interview at 11.5 months in Dubai and 12.5 months in Abu Dhabi, and a good agency shows you that number before you pay. Use the checks on this page on any agency, including Visa Doctor.

What a good US visa agency in Dubai should already know

Most UAE residents who need a US visa apply for the B1/B2 visitor visa or the F-1 student visa. You complete the DS-160 online on ceac.state.gov, pay the application fee, book an interview through the official scheduling system, and attend at the US Embassy in Abu Dhabi or the US Consulate General in Dubai. A consular officer decides.

The official fee

The US Department of State lists the application fee for non-petition-based nonimmigrant visas, which include B1/B2 and F-1, at USD 185 on its visa fees page. The US Embassy states that visa application fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. The US Mission has warned that many UAE applicants overpaid, so ask to see the government fee separately.

Scheduling and the Friday release window

The US Embassy’s visa page sends UAE applicants to the Global Support Services (GSS) scheduling system. It states that both posts release nonimmigrant interview appointments every Friday morning between 7:30 and 11:30, except on US and UAE holidays, with occasional extra releases, and that applicants with an appointment can log in at any time to look for an earlier one.

Published interview waits, 17 September 2026

These figures come from the US Department of State’s Global Visa Wait Times table, last updated 17 September 2026. The Department notes that these figures do not guarantee an appointment by any particular date.

Service status in the UAE

B1/B2 and student visa appointments are available at the US Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate General in Dubai, and UAE residents can book there. The official calendar wait is long, and the interview waiver (dropbox) is not available to most applicants at present, so most people need an interview. Separately, Presidential Proclamation 10998, in force since 1 January 2026, suspends or limits visa issuance for nationals of 39 countries; people it covers can still apply and attend an interview but may not be issued a visa. A good agency checks your nationality first.

Interview waiver rules

Since 1 October 2025 a B1/B2 renewal can skip the interview only if the previous visa was issued for full validity when you were at least 18 and expired less than 12 months ago, you apply in your country of nationality or usual residence, and you have never been refused unless the refusal was overcome or waived. Officers can still require an interview. F-1 is not a waiver category, and the Consulate General in Dubai states that children of all ages must now appear. Our US visa renewal guide covers the waiver in detail.

Eight checks for a US visa agency, and how to verify each one

The best US visa agency in Dubai passes all eight checks below. Our own evidence is in the last column, so you can test us the same way.

1. Uses only the official systems

Why it matters
The DS-160 and the booking exist only on US government systems.
How to verify
Ask where your DS-160 and appointment will be made, and ask to see the confirmation pages.
Visa Doctor’s evidence
We complete the DS-160 with you on ceac.state.gov and book through the official scheduling system. See our DS-160 and appointment guide.

2. States the real published wait, with a date

Why it matters
A wait quoted without a date or source is a sales line.
How to verify
Compare the agency’s figure with the Global Visa Wait Times table on travel.state.gov.
Visa Doctor’s evidence
Our US visa page quotes the 17 September 2026 figures for Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

3. Knows the interview waiver rules

Why it matters
A wrong waiver application wastes the fee and time.
How to verify
Ask whether you qualify and which rule applies.
Visa Doctor’s evidence
Our renewal guide sets out the rules in force since 1 October 2025.

4. Checks your DS-160 against your documents

Why it matters
The officer compares your answers with your papers and your interview.
How to verify
Ask who reviews the form before it is submitted.
Visa Doctor’s evidence
We check the DS-160 against your documents before you submit it.

5. Prepares you for the interview

Why it matters
The interview decides a B1/B2 or F-1 application.
How to verify
Ask how they prepare you and what they expect the officer to ask.
Visa Doctor’s evidence
Our US visa interview preparation guide covers the common questions.

6. No promise of approval or access

Why it matters
The US Mission says third party interventions are not permitted.
How to verify
Read the website and ask directly. Any guarantee should end the conversation.
Visa Doctor’s evidence
Every service page says the consular officer decides.

7. Clear scope and fees in writing

Why it matters
You should know what the agency handles and what you pay the US government.
How to verify
Ask for a written quote that separates the USD 185 fee from the agency’s own fee.
Visa Doctor’s evidence
We handle B1, B2, F-1 and F-2 visas and ESTA, and confirm our service fee in writing before payment. If we fail to book your appointment in the time we agree in writing, we refund our service fee.

8. A licence, a real office and named people

Why it matters
You know who holds your documents and who answers for your file.
How to verify
Check the licence on the issuing authority’s portal and read the newest Google reviews.

Red flags specific to US visas

  • “Guaranteed slots” for sale. Interview appointments are released on the official system, mostly on Friday mornings. Nobody owns a private stock of US interview dates.
  • Fake emergency appointments. Expedited appointment requests go through the official scheduling system, and the embassy or consulate decides them. An agency cannot create an emergency slot. See our guide to expedited appointment requests.
  • Claims of contacts at the embassy. The US Mission to the UAE states that the visa process is not open to outside interference, that every application is considered solely on its merits, and that third party interventions are not permitted.
  • Extra “government” fees. The official fee for B1/B2 and F-1 is USD 185. Anything on top is the agency’s charge.
  • A waiver that does not fit the rules. Children, first-time applicants, F-1 students and anyone previously refused do not fit the published B1/B2 renewal waiver.

Questions to ask a US visa agency before you pay

  1. What is the current published wait at Dubai and Abu Dhabi, and on what date was it published?
  2. Will my DS-160 and appointment be made on the official systems, and will I see the confirmations?
  3. Do I qualify for an interview waiver, and under which rule?
  4. Does Presidential Proclamation 10998 affect my nationality?
  5. Can I have a written quote that separates the USD 185 fee from your fee?
  6. How will you prepare me for the interview?

For a general checklist that works for any destination, see our guide on choosing the best visa agency in Dubai.

What no US visa agency can do

A consular officer decides every US visa, and no agency in the UAE can change that. An agency cannot approve your visa, promise an interview date the official system has not released, approve an expedite request, grant an interview waiver or override a presidential proclamation. What a good agency controls is your preparation: a DS-160 that matches your documents, evidence of your ties, and an applicant ready for the interview. If you were refused before, our guide to the 214(b) refusal explains what usually needs to change.

How we wrote this page

Visa Doctor is a licensed visa documentation agency in Dubai with a commercial interest in this topic, so we do not name, score or rank any other agency here. Instead we list the checks that matter for a US visa, how to verify each one, and our own evidence for each. Every fee, rule, wait time and date on this page comes from the US Department of State and the US Mission to the UAE, checked on 24 September 2026. See our editorial policy.

Frequently asked questions

Which is the best US visa agency in Dubai?

The best US visa agency in Dubai uses only the official systems, quotes the real dated wait, knows the interview waiver rules, and says plainly that a consular officer decides. Visa Doctor (Visa Doctor FZC, licence 4417571.01) is a Dubai visa documentation agency rated 4.9 on Google. You can test it against the eight checks on this page, as you would any agency.

How long is the wait for a US visa interview in Dubai?

On 17 September 2026 the US Department of State published the next available B1/B2 interview at 11.5 months in Dubai and 12.5 months in Abu Dhabi, and 5 months and 0.5 month for F, M and J visas. These figures change, so check the Global Visa Wait Times table on travel.state.gov before you plan.

How much is the US visa fee from the UAE?

The US Department of State lists USD 185 as the application fee for B1/B2 visitor visas and F-1 student visas. The US Embassy states that visa application fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. Any agency fee is separate and should be quoted in writing.

Can an agency get me an emergency US visa appointment?

No agency can create one. Expedited appointment requests are made through the official scheduling system, and the embassy or consulate decides whether to grant them. Where we can help is with rescheduled and cancelled appointments: we watch for them and can capture one in as little as 7 working days. Be wary of anyone selling a “guaranteed” or emergency slot.

Can I skip the US visa interview?

Only if you meet the waiver rules in force since 1 October 2025, which include a full-validity B1/B2 issued when you were at least 18 that expired less than 12 months ago, and no refusal that was not overcome or waived. Consular officers can still require an interview.

Do F-1 student visa applicants in the UAE need an interview?

Plan on it. F-1 is not among the interview waiver categories the Department of State published for 1 October 2025. The published next available F, M and J interview on 17 September 2026 was 5 months in Dubai and 0.5 month in Abu Dhabi.

Is US visa processing open in the UAE right now?

Yes. B1/B2 and student visa appointments are available in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, and UAE residents can book there. Appointments are released on Friday mornings between 7:30 and 11:30, except on US and UAE holidays. The interview waiver (dropbox) is not available to most applicants at present, so most people need an interview.

What happens if you cannot book my appointment in the agreed time?

If we agree in writing to book your appointment within a stated time frame and we do not secure it within that time, or the appointment is not made at all, we refund our service fee in full. The refund is tied to scheduling only. It never depends on the visa decision, which belongs to the embassy or consulate, and government and visa centre fees are paid to those bodies, not to us.
