Quick answer: Hong Kong Pre-arrival Registration (PAR) is an online registration that Indian passport holders must complete before they travel, and it lets them visit Hong Kong without a visa for up to 14 days. UAE passport holders do not need it: they can stay visa free for 30 days. Pakistani and Bangladeshi passport holders cannot use PAR and need a visa.
PAR is for Indian nationals who live in the UAE and want to visit Hong Kong as tourists or on short business trips. You complete it online with the Hong Kong Immigration Department before you fly, and you carry the approved registration with your passport.
Even when every requirement is met, entry is decided by the immigration officer on arrival. Hong Kong also asks for a passport valid for at least one month beyond your stay.
For the full list of documents, trip planning and what to carry, read our Hong Kong visa guide for UAE residents. If you hold a passport that is not listed above, tell us your nationality and travel dates on WhatsApp and we will tell you which route applies.
It depends on your passport, not your UAE residence. UAE nationals travel visa free for 30 days. Indian nationals need Pre-arrival Registration. Pakistani and Bangladeshi nationals need a visa.
No. It is an online registration that lets eligible Indian passport holders enter visa free for up to 14 days. It does not replace a visa for other nationalities or longer stays.
