How to request an expedited appointment

The process is set out by the US Embassy Abu Dhabi and US Consulate General Dubai and works the same way for both posts.

1. Book a regular non immigrant visa appointment for the closest available date, even if that date is weeks or months away. You cannot request an expedite without first having a scheduled appointment on the books.
2. Sign into your visa scheduling account, click Continue, then select “Request Expedite” and follow the prompts.
3. In the request, state the exact date and purpose of your travel, and explain clearly why the standard appointment date does not work.
4. If your situation involves a denied ESTA or a US Customs and Border Protection message, attach a copy of that correspondence, since it directly supports certain expedite categories.
