What is a Poland Schengen Visa?
A Poland Schengen visa lets UAE residents enter Poland and travel freely across all 29 Schengen Area member countries. It is the short-stay uniform visa, the Type C, good for up to 90 days in any 180.
Non-GCC nationals living in the UAE need one; UAE passport holders are exempt. You must also be a UAE resident to use this route: the embassy requires a valid Emirates ID, so a visitor cannot apply for a Polish visa here.
What sets Poland apart is the mechanics: no visa application centre, no Dubai submission point, an appointment system that assigns your date rather than letting you pick it, and a form that cannot be corrected once it is sent.
Poland Visa Key Details
- 📌 Visa type: Schengen short-stay visa (Type C)
- 📌 Maximum stay: up to 90 days within any 180-day period
- 📌 Where you apply: in person at the Polish embassy in Abu Dhabi; there is no visa centre
- 📌 Poland visa fee: AED 388 for applicants aged 12 and over, AED 194 for children aged 6 to 12, free for under 6s
- 📌 Service fee: none, as there is no commercial centre in the chain
- 📌 Payment: cash or card at the embassy; an appeal also costs AED 388
- 📌 Registration: three stages online at e-konsulat.gov.pl, in place since 8 November 2024
- 📌 Appointment wait: up to three weeks normally, at least eight weeks in high season
- 📌 Decision time: 15 calendar days as standard, up to 45 with further examination
- 📌 Application window: from six months before travel, no later than 15 calendar days before
- 📌 Insurance: travel medical cover of at least EUR 30,000 across Schengen
That AED 388 is Poland’s own conversion of the EUR 90 Schengen fee that has applied across the area since 11 June 2024. Missions fix their own exchange rates at their own refresh dates, which is why the same fee appears as anything from AED 360 to AED 395 across the Emirates.
Types of Poland Visas Available from the UAE
Tourist visa: the standard route for UAE residents visiting Poland for sightseeing or leisure, up to 90 days in any 180.
Business visa: for meetings, trade fairs or conferences, supported by an invitation from the Polish host company.
Visiting family or friends: for relatives or friends resident in Poland. The host’s name and address go into the fields the embassy warns you not to get wrong.
Short-stay study or training visa: for courses under 90 days, on the Polish institution’s invitation.
Long-stay national visa (Type D): anything over 90 days, including work and study, falls under Polish national immigration rules and takes considerably longer.
Airport transit visa: required for some nationalities transiting a Polish airport without entering Schengen.
Where UAE Residents Apply for a Poland Visa
There is no Poland visa application centre in the UAE. Every other Schengen state here outsources intake to a commercial operator; Poland does not. Applications are lodged in person at the consular department of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland, CI Tower, office 1502, Al Bateen Street, Khalidiyah, Abu Dhabi. The embassy states plainly that the form must be submitted in person and that it does not accept fax, post or email.
Two consequences follow. The first is in your favour: with no centre in the chain there is no service fee, where every other Schengen application from the UAE carries one, from about AED 69 on an Estonian file to AED 150 on a Swedish one. The second is not: there is no Dubai option, so Dubai, Sharjah and Northern Emirates residents travel to Abu Dhabi.
The appointment is assigned, not chosen
Since 8 November 2024 Poland has run a three-stage online registration at e-konsulat.gov.pl. You register, complete the application, and then wait. You do not pick a slot from a calendar. The embassy states that dates are assigned by the system twice a week and sent to the applicant by email, and it asks applicants not to contact it about appointment dates at all. What decides how soon you are seen is when your completed registration entered the queue.
Apply to Poland only if Poland is your main destination
A Schengen visa is issued by one member state and valid across the area, but you do not choose which one decides it. You apply where you will spend the most nights, and where nights split evenly, to the country you enter first. Poland is cheaper than Western Europe and carries no service charge, which makes it tempting as a route in. It is also a route the consulate sees constantly, and the likeliest explanation for its refusal rate.
Poland Visa Requirements from Dubai
What the Polish consulate asks UAE residents for is conventional. It is the process around it that is not.
- ✅ The printed and signed e-konsulat application form
- ✅ One photograph, 35mm by 45mm, to Schengen specification
- ✅ Passport with at least two blank pages
- ✅ Proof of UAE residence: a valid Emirates ID or re-entry visa
- ✅ Travel medical insurance covering at least EUR 30,000 across the Schengen area
- ✅ Three months of bank statements, or an employer letter
- ✅ Confirmed accommodation for the whole of your stay
- ✅ A flight itinerary
- ✅ Documents supporting the purpose of the trip
Additional Documents for Specific Categories
- ✅ Employed applicants: employer letter giving position, salary and approved leave
- ✅ Self-employed and business owners: trade licence and company bank statements
- ✅ Business travellers: an invitation from the Polish host company and who covers the costs
- ✅ Visiting family or friends: host details and proof of the relationship
- ✅ Students: enrolment letter from your UAE institution and proof of funding
- ✅ Retired applicants: pension statements or other proof of income
The form freezes when you submit it
This is the most expensive mistake available on a Polish application. The embassy states that once the form is recorded it will not be possible to make changes or corrections to the information in it. There is no counter fix and no correction at the interview. A wrong hotel name or a mistyped host address means starting the registration again at the back of the queue.
The embassy specifically flags fields 31 and 32: the host person or company, the hotel name, address and telephone, and the temporary address in the Schengen states. People fill these in from memory, or from a booking they mean to change later. Fill them from the confirmed booking, and confirm the booking first.
How to Get a Poland Schengen Tourist Visa from Dubai (Step-by-Step)
Poland punishes an application assembled in the wrong order: the form cannot be fixed and the queue cannot be jumped. This is how we run it.
Poland Visa Processing Time from the UAE
Poland is one of the few missions here that publishes its own waiting time. The embassy states that the approximate wait from registering a full application to the actual visit can be up to three weeks, and at least eight weeks in high season.
Add the decision itself, 15 calendar days as standard and up to 45 days where the file needs further examination, and a summer or Christmas trip needs roughly three months of runway. Applications are accepted from six months before travel and no later than 15 days before, so there is no reason to leave it late.
Because dates are assigned rather than chosen, the only lever on the timeline is how early your registration enters the queue and whether it is right first time. A form that has to be re-registered does not go to the front.
Why Choose Visa Doctor for Your Poland Visa?
- ⭐ We say what the embassy says: Poland states publicly that it does not cooperate with intermediaries and that using one brings no preferential treatment. That applies to every agency in Dubai, this one included.
- ⭐ What we actually do: get the e-konsulat form right first time, because a second attempt costs your place in a queue that runs to eight weeks in high season.
- ⭐ Fields 31 and 32: the host and accommodation fields the embassy singles out are the ones we check hardest, against a confirmed booking.
- ⭐ We check the main destination rule: Poland refuses far more UAE files than elsewhere, and this is the likeliest reason.
- ⭐ Transparent pricing: the AED 388 consular fee, insurance and our fee, broken out, with no invented service charge.
- ⭐ UAE-based team: our Dubai office works with UAE residence permits, Emirates IDs and employer letters every day.
Frequently Asked Questions, Poland Visa from Dubai
Where do I apply for a Poland visa in Dubai?
You do not. Poland has no visa application centre and no Dubai post. Applications are lodged in person at the Polish embassy in Abu Dhabi, CI Tower, office 1502, Al Bateen Street, Khalidiyah, so Dubai and Northern Emirates residents travel there.
How much is a Poland visa from the UAE in 2026?
AED 388 for applicants aged 12 and over and AED 194 for children aged 6 to 12, paid at the embassy in cash or by card, with under 6s free. There is no service fee because there is no visa centre. Insurance covering EUR 30,000 is required separately.
How long does a Poland visa take from Abu Dhabi?
The decision itself is 15 calendar days as standard and up to 45 where more examination is needed. The appointment queue is the longer part: the embassy publishes up to three weeks normally and at least eight weeks in high season, so allow about three months for peak-season travel.
Can I choose my Poland visa appointment date?
No. Poland assigns dates through the e-konsulat system twice a week and notifies you by email. The embassy asks applicants not to contact it about appointment dates at all.
Can I correct a mistake on the e-konsulat form?
No. The embassy states that once the application is recorded, changes and corrections are not possible. A mistake means a fresh registration and a new place at the back of the queue, which is why the host and accommodation fields must come from a confirmed booking.
Is there a VFS or BLS centre for Poland in the UAE?
No. Poland does not use VFS Global, BLS International or TLScontact in the Emirates. Intake is handled directly by the embassy’s consular department in Abu Dhabi, which is why a Polish application carries no service fee.
Do I need to be a UAE resident to apply for a Poland visa here?
Yes. The embassy requires a valid Emirates ID. A visitor to the UAE cannot apply for a Polish visa here and must apply in their own country of residence.
Why is Poland’s refusal rate from the UAE higher than in Kuwait or Riyadh?
On European Commission figures Poland’s Abu Dhabi post received 3,123 short-stay applications in 2025, issued 2,094 plus 39 with limited territorial validity, and refused 1,027: a 32.5% refusal rate against a UAE-wide average of 23.9%. The same dataset shows 4.4% in Kuwait and 12.7% in Riyadh. Policy is identical at all three posts, so the difference is the applicant mix, and applications where Poland is not genuinely the main destination are the most likely driver.
What are the chances of a multiple-entry Poland visa?
Modest. Of the visas Poland’s Abu Dhabi post issued in 2025, only 620 were multiple entry, about 30%, so roughly seven in ten successful applicants get a single-entry visa.
Does using an agency improve my chances with the Polish embassy?
No, and the embassy says so itself: it does not cooperate with intermediaries and using one does not lead to preferential treatment. Nobody has a private channel into the consular department or can move your name up the queue. What preparation changes is whether the e-konsulat form is right first time.
