In short: If you already hold a US visa and it expired recently in the same category, you may be able to renew it in the UAE without attending an interview — the Interview Waiver, often called Dropbox. We check your eligibility against the current rules, complete the DS-160, handle the fee and appointment system, and prepare your drop-off pack.

Why renewal matters so much in the UAE

For UAE residents, the US interview queue is usually the whole problem. Wait times fluctuate and can stretch for months. If you qualify for the interview waiver, you skip that queue entirely — you simply submit your documents and passport at a drop-off centre in Dubai or Abu Dhabi. It is the single biggest time-saver available in US visa work, and many people do not realise they qualify.

Do you qualify?

ConditionTypically required
Same categoryRenewing the same class (e.g. B1/B2 to B1/B2)
Recent expiryPrevious visa expired within a defined recent window
Clean historyNo prior refusals; previous visa not lost, stolen or cancelled
ResidenceLegally resident in the UAE with a valid residence visa

These criteria change. The US mission has tightened and loosened them more than once, and eligibility is finally determined by the official appointment system. We check your case against the rules as they stand on the day — rather than assuming. Read the full explainer: US visa renewal and the interview waiver.

What we do

  1. Eligibility check against the current interview-waiver rules.
  2. DS-160 completion — errors here are a common cause of trouble and of forced interviews.
  3. MRV fee and appointment system handled for you.
  4. Drop-off pack prepared: photo, confirmations, previous visa, supporting documents.
  5. 221(g) support if the consulate asks for more.

An honest caveat

Qualifying for the waiver means you skip the interview — it does not mean approval is guaranteed. A consular officer can still call you in or issue a 221(g). Never book non-refundable travel until the visa is physically in your passport.

If you do need an interview

Then you are on the standard route and we prepare you for it — see our US visa service, the B1/B2 guide, and appointment scheduling in Dubai. Indian nationals: applying from Dubai. Not sure which applies? Try the approval-chance estimator and the cost calculator.

Frequently asked questions

Can I renew my US visa in Dubai without an interview?

Possibly. If you are renewing the same category, your previous visa expired recently and you have no refusals, you may qualify. The official appointment system confirms eligibility.

Is Dropbox a guaranteed approval?

No. It means you skip the interview. The officer can still request an interview or issue a 221(g) for more documents.

How long does renewal take?

Usually much faster than the interview route, but it varies with demand. Do not book non-refundable travel until your passport is returned.

My visa expired five years ago. Can I still use Dropbox?

Usually not — the waiver generally requires expiry within a recent window. Expect a full interview.
