What is actually happening with US visas in the UAE
The US mission to the UAE cancelled consular appointments and has kept routine visa services suspended through July 2026 because of the regional security situation. Applicants with existing appointments are being contacted about rescheduling. No public restart date has been announced. Anyone promising you a guaranteed Dubai interview slot this month is not being straight with you.
Does the $750 US visa fast-track help UAE residents
The US introduced a paid expedited interview option of about $750 on top of the $185 MRV fee, running 1 July to 31 December 2026 at selected posts. It buys a faster interview date, not a faster approval. It is not available at the Dubai or Abu Dhabi posts while services are suspended, so for UAE residents today it is not a solution. What UAE residents can realistically do right now
- Get the file finished now. When posts reopen, slots go quickly. The applicants who get in first are the ones whose DS-160, financials and supporting documents are already complete.
- Consider a third-country post. Some UAE residents apply in other countries that accept non-residents. Wait times, eligibility and the risk of refusal differ by post, so this needs an honest case-by-case review.
- Check interview waiver eligibility. If you are renewing a recently expired B1/B2, you may not need a fresh interview at all. This is the single fastest route for many renewals.
- Keep your details consistent. Mismatches between your DS-160, passport, Emirates ID and employment letter are a common cause of delay and refusal.
