**Quick answer:** There is no Vietnamese embassy in Dubai. The Embassy of Vietnam is in Al Mushrif, Abu Dhabi, and the official embassy website we checked lists only that office. Most UAE residents who need a tourist visa do not visit the embassy at all, because Vietnam issues e-visas through the Vietnam Immigration Department’s government portal. The e-visa is valid for up to 90 days with multiple entries and is open to citizens of all countries. Visa Doctor helps you prepare your details and documents, but we are not the embassy or the Immigration Department and cannot promise a decision.

## Vietnam embassy Dubai: where the embassy actually is

The Embassy of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in the UAE is at Villa 147, Salama Bint Butti Street (Street 23), Al Mushrif, Abu Dhabi. The embassy’s website lists two telephone numbers, +971 2 449 6710 and +971 2 449 6730, and the email vnemb1@emirates.net.ae. The homepage links to a working schedule page, and we did not find opening hours stated in the text we reviewed, so check that page or phone before travelling.

Many websites list a “Vietnam embassy in Dubai”. The official embassy website lists the Abu Dhabi embassy and does not show a Dubai visa office. If you see an address in Dubai that claims to issue Vietnamese visas, treat it with caution and check it against the embassy’s own site.

## What the embassy handles and what it does not

The embassy’s website has a consular procedures section and a page on visa exemptions. For most tourist visits by UAE residents, the practical route is the online e-visa, not an embassy counter. The e-visa is not something you pay for or book an appointment for at the embassy. If you need a visa type that the e-visa does not cover, or have a consular question, read the embassy’s consular procedures page and contact the embassy by phone or email before you go, because we could not confirm walk-in arrangements.

## Do UAE residents need a Vietnam visa?

That depends on your passport. Vietnam’s visa exemption list, as published by the Vietnam national tourism administration, covers specific countries for 45 days or shorter stays, and the page we checked did not show the UAE among them. Living in the UAE does not give any extra exemption. If your passport is not on the exemption list, you need a visa, and for tourism the standard option is the e-visa. Always check the official exemption list on the day you plan, because Vietnam changes its list from time to time.

## The Vietnam e-visa for UAE residents

According to the Vietnam national tourism administration’s visa page, the e-visa programme has covered citizens of all countries and territories since 15 August 2023. It allows stays of up to 90 days with single or multiple entries, and it can be used at a long list of airports, land borders and sea ports. Applications are made on an official Vietnam Immigration Department portal, where you receive an approval code by email that you can print or verify online.

There is a real risk of lookalike sites in this market. The official portal sits on a government (.gov.vn) address, such as evisa.gov.vn or the Immigration Department’s own domain. Many search results are private agencies that charge extra for the same form. Our guide to the [Vietnam visa from Dubai](/country-post/vietnam-visa/) explains how to tell them apart.

## How to apply step by step

- **Check you need a visa.** Use the official exemption list for your passport.

- **Prepare a passport scan and a photo.** The portal asks for a clear scan of the passport data page and a recent portrait photo. Your passport should have enough validity for your stay, and you should check the portal’s current requirement.

- **Fill in the online form** with details exactly as they appear in your passport, including your intended entry gate, dates and a Vietnamese address for your first night.

- **Pay the official fee** shown on the portal, using the payment methods it lists.

- **Wait for the email,** then print the e-visa approval and carry it with your passport. Make sure the entry gate on the e-visa matches the gate you will actually use.

Government processing time is shown on the portal and can vary. We do not quote a number because the Immigration Department can change it, and applying early removes the stress.

## Documents and what to bring

The e-visa is applied for online, so there is no appointment, but you should have these ready:

- A passport scan and photo that meet the portal rules.

- Your UAE residence visa and Emirates ID, which you will probably be asked to show at check-in and when you return to the UAE.

- Printed e-visa approval and your booking details for the first night in Vietnam.

- Return or onward flight details, since airlines and immigration may check them.

- Proof of funds, such as recent bank statements, in case immigration asks.

## Common mistakes

- Looking for a Vietnam embassy in Dubai. The embassy is in Abu Dhabi.

- Applying on a lookalike site that adds a large service charge or collects your passport details without clear terms.

- Choosing the wrong entry gate. The e-visa lists a gate, and entering at another may cause problems at the border.

- Typing your name, passport number or date of birth differently from the passport. Small errors can invalidate the visa.

- Assuming the e-visa extends your UAE residence rights or removes the need for a valid UAE residence visa for your return.

- Not printing the approval, or travelling with a passport that expires soon.

## How Visa Doctor helps

Visa Doctor is a licensed Dubai visa documentation and appointment agency (licence 4417571.01). We are not the Embassy of Vietnam, the Vietnam Immigration Department or a government body, and we cannot issue a visa. We help you confirm whether you need one, prepare and check your details and documents before you submit, and catch spelling and entry gate errors that cause refusals. Read about our [visa document preparation](/visa-document-preparation-dubai/) and [visa appointment booking](/visa-appointment-booking-dubai/) support, or see our full list of [visa services in Dubai](/visa-services-dubai/).

Last checked: October 2026, against the [Embassy of Vietnam in the UAE website](https://vnembassy-abudhabi.mofa.gov.vn/en-us/) and the [Vietnam tourism visa requirements page](https://vietnam.travel/plan-your-trip/visa-requirements). We could not open the e-visa portal itself from our research tools, so confirm the current form, fee and processing time on the portal.

## Frequently asked questions

### Is there a Vietnam embassy in Dubai?

The official embassy website lists the embassy in Abu Dhabi, at Villa 147, Salama Bint Butti Street (Street 23), Al Mushrif. We did not find an official Vietnamese visa office in Dubai.

### Do I apply for a Vietnam visa at the embassy?

For tourism, usually not. Most visitors apply for the e-visa online through the Vietnam Immigration Department’s government portal.

The tourism administration’s page says the e-visa allows stays of up to 90 days with multiple entries and is available to citizens of all countries and territories.

It depends on your passport. If it is not on Vietnam’s exemption list you need a visa, and the e-visa is the standard tourist route.

### How do I avoid fake Vietnam e-visa websites?

Use the government portal on a .gov.vn address and be cautious of any site that adds large service fees or asks for payment before you see the official form.

### Can Visa Doctor get my Vietnam visa approved?

No agency can. We prepare and check your details and documents, and the Vietnamese authorities decide the application.
