**Quick answer:** There is no Turkish embassy in Dubai. The Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye is in Abu Dhabi, and the Consulate General is in the Dubai World Trade Centre building on Sheikh Zayed Road. For visa matters the Dubai consulate tells applicants to contact VFS Global, and consular applications there are by online appointment only. Many passports do not need either office: some travel visa-free, and others use the online e-Visa at evisa.gov.tr. Which route applies depends on your passport, not on your UAE residence. Visa Doctor is not an embassy, consulate or visa centre.

## Turkey embassy Dubai: what actually exists

People search for “Turkey embassy Dubai”, but Turkey’s diplomatic and consular presence in the UAE is split in two. The embassy is in Abu Dhabi. The Consulate General is in Dubai and serves residents of several emirates. According to the Consulate General’s contact page, its jurisdiction covers Dubai, Ajman, Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah, Sharjah and Umm Al Quwain.

Before you travel to either office, work out whether you need one at all. A large share of UAE residents can enter Turkey visa-free or get an e-Visa online in minutes, and never visit a consulate.

## What the consulate does and does not do

The Dubai consulate handles consular business by appointment, document attestation and similar services. It does not issue the e-Visa. The e-Visa is a government online system run by Türkiye’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs at evisa.gov.tr, and you apply for it yourself on any device with an internet connection.

For a sticker visa, the route the consulate points to is VFS Global. Türkiye also runs an online Pre-Application System for the sticker visa at visa.gov.tr. The Ministry says applicants complete the online application, then attend the Turkish mission, or the visa application centre where one handles applications, to submit the signed form, passport and original documents. The Ministry’s page asks you to check visa.gov.tr to see whether applications in your country go through a visa application centre.

The consulate will not choose your route for you, so read your nationality entry yourself before booking anything. Be wary of anyone who offers a faster appointment for a private fee, and book only through the official channels.

## Which route applies to a UAE resident

Turkey’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs publishes the rule country by country, and your residence permit does not change it. These examples come from the Ministry’s “Visa Information For Foreigners” page, for ordinary passports.

### No visa needed

The Ministry lists ordinary passport holders of the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar and Bahrain as visa-exempt for up to 90 days in any 180-day period. The same page lists visa exemption for ordinary passports of Iran, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, the United States, Canada and Australia. UK ordinary passport holders are exempt for tourism for up to 90 days in any 180 days, but some British nationality categories must get a visa from a Turkish mission. Russian ordinary passports are exempt for tourism and business for up to 60 days. Chinese ordinary passports are exempt for up to 90 days in any 180-day period as of 2 January 2026.

### e-Visa with conditions

For several nationalities that make up large parts of the UAE population, the e-Visa is open only if you hold a valid Schengen member state, US, UK or Ireland visa or residence permit. The Ministry names India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, the Philippines, Afghanistan and Yemen in this group. Where the page gives a validity, it is a single entry e-Visa, for example one month for Indian, Pakistani and Nepali passports, and 30 days for Filipino passports. Iraqi nationals aged 15 to 50 are in the same group, while the page exempts Iraqis under 15 and over 50 from the visa.

Egypt has its own rule. The Ministry says Egyptians under 15 or over 45 can get an e-Visa without an additional condition. Egyptians aged 15 to 45 need a valid Schengen, US, UK or Ireland visa or residence permit and must travel with Turkish Airlines, AJet, Pegasus, EgyptAir or Air Cairo.

### Visa from a Turkish mission

Nigerian, Ghanaian, Kenyan and Syrian ordinary passport holders, among others, are listed as needing a visa, with no e-Visa option on the page. South African ordinary passports can get either a three-month multiple entry visa from a Turkish mission or a one-month single entry e-Visa. Always read your own nationality on the Ministry page, because lists change.

The Ministry also states that the e-Visa is valid only when the purpose of travel is tourism or commerce. For work or study you need a visa from a Turkish embassy or consulate beforehand. Our [Turkey e-Visa guide for UAE residents](/turkey-evisa-uae-residents-guide/) and the main [Turkey visa from Dubai](/country-post/turkey-visa/) page cover the nationality split in more depth.

## How the e-Visa works, step by step

- **Step 1.** Check your nationality on the Ministry’s visa information page and confirm you meet any condition, such as a valid Schengen, US, UK or Ireland visa or residence permit.

- **Step 2.** Go to evisa.gov.tr by typing the address yourself.

- **Step 3.** Enter your identity, passport and travel date details.

- **Step 4.** Pay the fee online by card. The Ministry states that fees on the e-Visa website are lower than at Turkish airports, and publishes the current fee list on its own site.

- **Step 5.** Download the e-Visa from the link emailed to you and keep a printed or saved copy as a backup, since the Ministry notes officers verify it in their system but recommends carrying a copy.

The Ministry advises passports valid for at least six months from the date of arrival. Separately, it states that a passport should be valid for at least 60 days beyond the duration of stay of your visa, e-Visa or visa exemption, with some exemptions.

## How a sticker visa application works from the UAE

- **Step 1.** Confirm on the Ministry’s page that your passport needs a sticker visa, or that you do not qualify for the e-Visa.

- **Step 2.** Complete the online pre-application at visa.gov.tr and check whether applications from the UAE go through VFS Global.

- **Step 3.** Book your VFS Global appointment through the official VFS Global website, and attend with the signed form, original passport and original supporting documents.

- **Step 4.** Follow the status updates you receive, and do not buy non-refundable tickets before the visa decision.

The exact checklist is published on the official application pages, and it can change, so use the current one rather than an old copy from a friend.

## Common mistakes

- **Assuming UAE residence is enough.** It is the passport nationality that decides.

- **Applying through a lookalike website.** The Ministry names evisa.gov.tr as the e-Visa site.

- **Missing the supporting visa.** Where a Schengen, US, UK or Ireland visa or permit is a condition, it must be valid when you apply.

- **Using the e-Visa for work or study.** It covers tourism or commerce only.

- **Turning up at the consulate without an appointment.** The consulate says applications need one.
