# Greece Visa Appointment from Dubai and Abu Dhabi (2026)

**Greece visa appointments in the UAE are booked online with VFS Global, which runs Greece visa application centres in both Dubai and Abu Dhabi, open Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 17:00. You fill in the application form, book one appointment per person on the VFS Global Greece UAE website, then attend in person to submit your documents, give fingerprints and pay the visa fee.** The Schengen visa fee is EUR 90 for adults, you can apply up to 6 months before travel and no later than 15 days before, and the EU rule for a decision is 15 calendar days, extendable to 45.

Greece is a summer destination for many UAE families, which is exactly when its calendar is tightest, so the practical advice below is about getting a slot in time. Everything was checked on VFS Global and the EU’s official pages on 25 September 2026.

## How to book a Greece visa appointment in the UAE, step by step

- **Make sure Greece is your main destination:** the Schengen country where you spend the most nights, or the first one you enter if the nights are equal. A cruise that starts in Piraeus and a week on the islands is a Greece trip; two nights in Athens before ten days in Italy is not.

- **Check the documents for your visa type** on the VFS Global Greece UAE site (tourism and family visits, business, medical and other categories each have their own list).

- **Download and complete the application form,** print it and sign it.

- **Book on the [VFS Global Greece UAE booking page](https://visa.vfsglobal.com/are/en/grc/book-an-appointment).** Every member of a family or group needs an individual appointment. You receive a confirmation email and an appointment letter. VFS also takes questions on 04 205 5770.

- **Attend the centre in person** with the printed form, the appointment letter and the full document set, give fingerprints and a photo unless you are exempt, and pay the visa fee.

- **Track the application** online with the reference on your receipt and your last name, and collect the passport with the receipt and ID, or pay for courier return.

Appointments can be cancelled up to 3 days before the date. Booking again after a cancellation needs a new service charge payment, so pick a date you can keep.

## Greece appointments look impossible? What actually works

UAE residents regularly post online that Greece appointments are impossible to get in May and June. The pattern is predictable: most people start looking six to eight weeks before a summer trip, when the calendar is already full. The consular authorities set how many appointments exist; VFS only runs the booking.

- **Start in the 6-month window.** For a July island holiday, look in January or February, before the rush.

- **Check both centres.** VFS runs Greece centres in Dubai and in Abu Dhabi. If you can travel to the other emirate, look at both calendars.

- **Watch for cancellations at varied times** of day, and keep your file ready so you can take a short-notice slot.

- **Visa At Your Doorstep** is an official VFS service for Greece in the UAE: VFS staff collect your application and biometrics at your home or office, for an additional fee. It saves the trip to the centre; the decision still rests with the consular authorities.

- **Genuine emergencies:** under the EU Visa Code a consulate may accept an application without an appointment, or give one immediately, in justified cases of urgency.

- **Do not buy appointments** and do not switch to a country you are not mainly visiting. Both lead to wasted money or a refusal.

More options, by country, are in [which Schengen country has the fastest appointment](https://visadoctor.ae/which-schengen-country-fastest-appointment-dubai/) and [no Schengen appointments available in Dubai](https://visadoctor.ae/no-schengen-appointments-available-dubai/).

## What is a Greece Schengen visa?

It is the uniform short-stay visa (type C) for tourism, visiting family or friends, business, medical treatment, cultural or sporting events and short courses, valid for up to 90 days in any 180-day period across the Schengen area. UAE citizens do not need one; most expatriate nationalities in the UAE do.

### Greece business visa from Dubai

Business applicants book the Business category and add an invitation from the Greek company or event organiser and a letter from their UAE employer confirming their role and the purpose of the trip. Everything else follows the standard file below.

## Greece visa documents checklist for UAE residents, by profile

The Greece checklist for your visa category is the final word, and missions update it without notice. This table is the standard Schengen file that UAE residents submit, arranged by who you are, so you can see what applies to you before you book.

Your profile |
What to prepare |

Every applicant |
Passport issued in the last 10 years, valid at least 3 months after you leave the Schengen area, with 2 blank pages; the Greece Schengen application form, printed and signed; one recent ICAO standard photo; UAE residence visa and Emirates ID; travel medical insurance of at least EUR 30,000 valid for the whole Schengen area and the whole trip; flight reservation and hotel booking (or an invitation letter); personal bank statements for the period your checklist states, stamped by the bank; a cover letter explaining the trip. |

Employed |
Employer NOC or salary certificate on company letterhead stating your position, salary, start date and approved leave dates, signed with the signatory’s full name and position; recent payslips if your checklist asks for them; the bank statement should show the salary arriving each month. |

Business owner or self-employed |
UAE trade licence, proof that you own or partly own the company (for example the memorandum of association or partner list), company bank statements and your personal bank statements; a letter on company letterhead explaining the trip. |

Dependant spouse or child (sponsored) |
Sponsor’s NOC with a copy of the sponsor’s passport and UAE residence visa, the sponsor’s employment letter or trade licence, the sponsor’s bank statements, and the marriage or birth certificate. Children under 18 need consent from both parents, and a parent who is not travelling signs an authorisation. |

## Greece visa processing time and fees from the UAE

Under Article 23 of the EU Visa Code, a Schengen consulate decides within 15 calendar days of a complete, admissible application, and can extend that to 45 days when it needs to examine the case further. The passport stays with the consulate until the decision. The visa fee is fixed in euros by Article 16 of the Visa Code, EUR 90 for adults and EUR 45 for children aged 6 to under 12, and is charged in local currency at the centre, together with the VFS service fee.

Add the appointment wait to the decision time. In summer, that wait is usually the longer of the two. Plan with [how far in advance to book a Schengen appointment](https://visadoctor.ae/how-far-in-advance-book-schengen-appointment-dubai/).

## Common Greece visa refusal reasons and how to fix them

The grounds for refusing a Schengen visa are the same for every member state and are listed in Article 32 of the EU Visa Code. The refusal letter ticks the ground that applied and explains how to appeal. These are the ones we see most often in UAE files, and what prevents each one.

Refusal ground |
What usually causes it |
How to fix it before you apply |

The purpose and conditions of the trip were not justified |
Dates, bookings, leave letter and cover letter tell different stories, or the itinerary is vague. |
Make every document show the same dates and the same route, and explain the trip in a short cover letter. |

Not enough means of subsistence |
Low balance, or a large unexplained deposit just before applying. |
Show a steady balance built from salary or business income over several months, and explain any large transfer. |

Doubts about your intention to leave before the visa expires |
Weak ties to the UAE: short residence validity, no job letter, no approved leave. |
Include the employer letter with approved leave, a residence visa valid well beyond your return, and proof of family or property ties. |

Doubts about documents or statements |
A reservation that cannot be verified, a statement that does not match the salary letter. |
Submit genuine, checkable documents and keep figures consistent across every page. |

No adequate travel medical insurance |
Cover below EUR 30,000, not valid across the Schengen area, or shorter than the trip. |
Buy a policy that meets the EU minimum and covers every day of the stay. |

You have already used 90 days in the current 180-day period |
Previous trips add up to the limit. |
Count your days with our [90/180 calculator](https://visadoctor.ae/schengen-90-180-day-calculator/) before you choose dates. |

Applying to the wrong country is a separate problem: you must apply to your main destination, the country where you spend the most nights, or the country you enter first if the nights are equal. See [the main destination rule](https://visadoctor.ae/schengen-main-destination-rule-dubai/). If you have already been refused, read [appeal or reapply after a Schengen refusal](https://visadoctor.ae/schengen-visa-refused-appeal-or-reapply-dubai/).

## How Visa Doctor helps with your Greece visa

- **Right country, right centre.** We confirm that Greece is genuinely your main destination and that you are booking the centre that covers the emirate on your residence visa.

- **Documents selected and reviewed.** We build your file against the current checklist for your profile, check every date and figure for consistency, and flag gaps before the appointment, not at the counter.

- **Forms completed.** We fill the online application form with you and prepare the printed copy you take to the centre.

- **Appointment booked.** We book the appointment in the official system and keep watching for earlier slots that fit your dates.

- **Cover letter written.** A short, specific letter that explains who you are, why you are travelling and why you will return.

- **Flight and hotel reservations** for the visa file, matched to your itinerary.

- **Briefing before the appointment,** so you know what to bring and what happens at the centre.

What we do not do: we do not sell appointments, we do not influence the decision, and we never promise approval. The consulate decides every application. Your first consultation is free, and we tell you honestly whether your travel date is realistic before you pay anything.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I applied for shengen visa in April 2026. Working with Barlas was a big pleasure and absence of any issues or problems. He prepared all documents and answered millions of my questions. He recommended me Swiss embassy instead of Italy showing that he has a deep understanding of the situation now. Got my visa in 2 weeks, unfortunately for 1 entry only but it’s something the company can’t influence. Fully recommend

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Bar, I honestly don’t even know where to start — this was such a different experience from anything I’ve had before with visa agencies.

From the very first moment, you were there. I called, you picked up immediately, and within minutes after our conversation you had already sent me all the available appointment slots and clearly explained which country would give me the best chances. Everything felt structured, transparent, and under control — no stress, no anxiety on my side at all.

You handled the entire process end-to-end: guided me through every document, helped me prepare everything properly, and even wrote incredibly strong cover letters that made a real difference. I truly felt that you did everything possible to maximize my chances of getting a one-year visa.

But beyond the professionalism, what really stood out is how easy it was to communicate with you. You’re positive, responsive, and genuinely supportive. You were always available, even outside working hours — which I really appreciate (and sorry for messaging you then 🙈).

I’ve worked with visa agencies many times before, and honestly, most of the experiences were frustrating — agents disappearing, not replying for days, leaving me stressed and unsure. This is the first time I’ve had such a smooth, reliable, and genuinely positive experience.

I know my profile and documents were strong, but I’m absolutely sure that without your help, my chances of getting a one-year Schengen visa — especially on my first application from the UAE — would have been much lower.

Thank you so much, Bar. I truly appreciate your work and your attitude. I will wholeheartedly recommend you to anyone who needs help with a visa.
