## How to Apply for a China Visa from Dubai

**To apply for a China visa from Dubai, complete the online application form on the Chinese Visa Application Service Center (CVASC) Dubai website, wait for the online review email, then take your original passport and documents to the centre at WAFI Mall to submit and pay.** If your UAE residence visa was issued in Abu Dhabi or Al Ain, you apply to the Chinese Embassy in Abu Dhabi instead, using the China Online Visa Application system at [consular.mfa.gov.cn](https://consular.mfa.gov.cn/VISA/).

UAE citizens with an ordinary passport do not need a visa to visit China for up to 30 days. For everyone else, the consular officer decides whether to issue the visa, and sets its validity, length of stay and number of entries.

### China visa application steps in Dubai

- **Choose your visa type.** Pick the category that matches the main purpose of your trip, for example L for tourism or M for business.

- **Complete the online form.** Create an account on the [CVASC Dubai website](https://www.visaforchina.cn/DXB3_EN/), fill in the application form, upload your passport, photo and supporting documents, then click Submit.

- **Wait for the online review.** The centre checks your upload first and may ask you to add or correct documents. When the review is complete you receive an email with a Visa Application Certificate. This is not a visa approval.

- **Submit at the centre.** Take the printed certificate, the signed application form, your original passport and printed copies of everything you uploaded to the CVASC at WAFI Mall. Once you have the certificate, you do not need a separate submission appointment. Submissions are accepted from 9:00 to 15:00, Monday to Friday.

- **Fingerprints, only if required.** Until 31 December 2026, the Consulate-General in Dubai exempts all short-term applicants staying no longer than 180 days. Applicants for D, J1, Q1, S1, X1 and Z visas still give fingerprints.

- **Pay and collect.** Pay the visa fee and the centre’s service fee at the counter by cash or card. The CVASC publishes 4 working days for regular service, with the submission day counted as the first. Collection runs from 9:00 to 16:00 with your pick-up form, and the date printed on it is an estimate.

### China visa types and key documents

Every applicant needs an original passport with at least six months of validity and two blank visa pages, a recent colour photo on a white background, a copy of your Emirates ID or UAE residence visa, and a no objection letter from your UAE sponsor. Then add the documents for your visa type:

Visa type |
Who it is for |
Key documents |

L (tourist) |
Holidays and sightseeing |
Return flight booking and hotel reservation, or an invitation letter from a person or company in China |

M (business) |
Trade and other commercial activities |
Invitation letter from your Chinese trade partner or trade fair, trade licences of the inviting company and your UAE employer, employment certificate or no objection letter |

Q2 (family visit) |
Visiting relatives who are Chinese citizens, or foreigners with permanent residence in China, for up to 180 days |
Invitation letter from the relative, copy of their Chinese ID, or their passport and permanent residence permit |

S2 (family visit) |
Visiting family members who are foreigners working or studying in China, for up to 180 days |
Invitation letter, copy of the inviter’s passport and residence permit, proof of the family relationship |

G (transit) |
Passing through China to another country |
Onward air, train or ship ticket with a confirmed date and seat |

### Official China visa fees in the UAE

China’s reduced visa fees apply in the UAE until 31 December 2026. For most nationalities the visa fee is AED 102 for a single entry, AED 153 for a double entry, AED 203 for a six-month multiple entry and AED 304 for a multiple entry of 12 months or more. Some nationalities pay different amounts under reciprocity, and UAE citizens who need a visa pay AED 113 for a single entry. The CVASC in Dubai adds its own service fee, listed in its published schedule as AED 210 for regular service. Express service costs more.

### Transit through China without a visa

Passport holders from 57 countries, including the UAE, the UK, the US and Canada, can enter China without a visa for up to 240 hours (10 days) when transiting to a third country through one of 65 designated ports. You need an onward ticket with a confirmed seat and date. Indian, Pakistani and Filipino passports are not on this list. Any nationality can transit for up to 24 hours without a visa if they stay in the airport’s restricted area.

## Do UAE Residents Need a China Visa?

Most nationalities, including Indian, Pakistani, Filipino, and many others, require a China tourist visa before travel. UAE citizens with an ordinary passport can visit China without a visa for up to 30 days. Visa Doctor assists residents of all nationalities based in the UAE with their China visa applications.

## Why China visa applications from Dubai are returned or refused

- **The online form does not match the documents**, for example different travel dates, hotel names or employer details.

- **The wrong visa category**: a tourist (L) application for what is really a business trip, which needs an M visa and an invitation.

- **A weak or missing invitation letter** for business and family visits.

- **Passport problems**: less than six months of validity or fewer than two blank visa pages.

- **Applying in the wrong place**: residents whose visa was issued in Abu Dhabi or Al Ain apply to the Embassy in Abu Dhabi, not the Dubai centre.

The consular officer decides every application and may ask for more documents or an interview. See also [what UAE residents get wrong about Japan and China visas](https://visadoctor.ae/japan-china-visa-dubai/).

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I applied for shengen visa in April 2026. Working with Barlas was a big pleasure and absence of any issues or problems. He prepared all documents and answered millions of my questions. He recommended me Swiss embassy instead of Italy showing that he has a deep understanding of the situation now. Got my visa in 2 weeks, unfortunately for 1 entry only but it’s something the company can’t influence. Fully recommend

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Bar, I honestly don’t even know where to start — this was such a different experience from anything I’ve had before with visa agencies.

From the very first moment, you were there. I called, you picked up immediately, and within minutes after our conversation you had already sent me all the available appointment slots and clearly explained which country would give me the best chances. Everything felt structured, transparent, and under control — no stress, no anxiety on my side at all.

You handled the entire process end-to-end: guided me through every document, helped me prepare everything properly, and even wrote incredibly strong cover letters that made a real difference. I truly felt that you did everything possible to maximize my chances of getting a one-year visa.

But beyond the professionalism, what really stood out is how easy it was to communicate with you. You’re positive, responsive, and genuinely supportive. You were always available, even outside working hours — which I really appreciate (and sorry for messaging you then 🙈).

I’ve worked with visa agencies many times before, and honestly, most of the experiences were frustrating — agents disappearing, not replying for days, leaving me stressed and unsure. This is the first time I’ve had such a smooth, reliable, and genuinely positive experience.

I know my profile and documents were strong, but I’m absolutely sure that without your help, my chances of getting a one-year Schengen visa — especially on my first application from the UAE — would have been much lower.

Thank you so much, Bar. I truly appreciate your work and your attitude. I will wholeheartedly recommend you to anyone who needs help with a visa.
